Jim has been a prominent front ensemble arranger & composer in the drum corps activity for nearly 15 years. He was a component of the Blue Devils A Corps staff from2006-2017, which amassed 7 DCI Championships and 4 Fred Sanford High Percussion awards during his tenure as front ensemble arranger & caption head. Jim entered a newrole as the music coordinator & brass arranger for the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corpsin 2018. In addition, he has been the Front Ensemble Caption Head and Arranger forTokyo’s Soka Renaissance vanguard since 2007.

In the WGI Percussion realm, Jim has been the music coordinator & front ensemble arranger for RCC Indoor Percussion since 2004, recording several gold medals along the way. Past indoor percussion credits include 22 years of arranging & instruction at seven-time WGI PSW medalist Mission Viejo High School, and 15 years at five-timeWGI PSA medalist Loara High School.

Jim arranges marching band winds for several programs including the 2015 BOA GrandNational Champion Broken Arrow High School and William Mason High School.

When Jim is at home, he spends as much time as possible with his wife & daughter, and doubles as an amateur sprinter in an attempt to keep up with his mutt terrier, Henry, on walks. He also manages his percussion & marching band website Wunderpit Music.

Jim is a member of the WGI Hall of Fame, and a founding member of the SouthernCalifornia Percussion Alliance. He is a proud endorser Promark, Evans, Planet Waves, Zildjian cymbals & Meinl percussion.
